Rev Cyril Francis CHASE 2
Notes: Cyril was the first of the eight grandparents. His earliest known Chase ancestor was Samuel, a yeoman and Baptist from Chesham who was buried in Luton in 1734, home for the next three generations. The fifth Samuel Chase (1787-1863) became a lawyer, joined the Established Church, and settled in Reading. The following three generations were Anglican clergymen. Cyril married Joyce Mary Umfreville STEVENS, daughter of Alfred Henry STEVENS and Lucy THOMAS, on 28 Apr 1914 in St Andrew, Farnham, Surrey.1 (Joyce Mary Umfreville STEVENS was born on 29 Sep 1892 in Farnham, Surrey 8, christened on 1 Nov 1892 in St Andrew, Farnham, Surrey,9 died on 17 Feb 1987 in Corscombe, Dorset 10 11 and was buried in St Mary the Virgin, Powerstock, Dorset 10.) |
