Notes: Margaret was the eldest daughter of Alexander Mortimer (qv), a baker and broker with shipping interests in Aberdeen. She moved to Orkney after her marriage to John Gray (qv). Margaret married Capt John GRAY, son of Malcolm GRAY and Jane Sophia PEAKE, on 25 Jul 1860 in Banchory Devenick, Kincardineshire.1 (Capt John GRAY was born on 31 Jul 1825 in Roeberry, South Ronaldsay, Orkney 5, christened on 2 Oct 1825 in North Parish, South Ronaldsay, Orkney,6 died on 29 Apr 1903 in South Ronaldsay, Orkney 7 and was buried in St Peter, South Ronaldsay, Orkney 4.) |
