Notes: John was the second of three sons, and was born in Callow, a hamlet between Wirksworth and Kirk Ireton. In 1741 he married Deborah Taylor (qv) in the neighbouring parish of Carsington, where they raised their family of seven children (three boys and four girls). The youngest five are known to have been born in Hopton near Carsington, and all except one married and had children. John married Deborah TAYLOR, daughter of Francis TAYLOR and Hannah HEYWOOD, on 10 Mar 1741 in St Margaret, Carsington, Derbyshire.1 (Deborah TAYLOR was christened on 28 Mar 1717 in St Margaret, Carsington, Derbyshire,1 died in Hopton, Derbyshire 5 and was buried on 3 Feb 1801 in St Margaret, Carsington, Derbyshire 6.) |
