bullet  Notes:

Williamina was the sixth of the eight grandparents. Her earliest known Duff ancestor was Archibald Daff, a farmer in Greenock in the early 18th Century. In the 19th Century the family profession changed to brassfounding, in Greenock and Dundee.

Williamina was born in Greenock the day after her father died - she and her only brother John were brought up by their mother in Aberdeen. She married William Gray (qv) in 1894 following a long engagement, accompanied him to India where their three children were born, and returned to Aberdeen when he retired in 1912. After William died in 1915 she continued to live in Aberdeen, then in the mid 1920s moved to England to be with her two younger children.
