Thomas took over the lease of the the manor of Padbury from this father, and in 1576 was appointed Bailiff by All Soul's College Oxford. He and his wife Katherine had at least 13 children, their eldest son John identifying many of them in his will written in 1629. Their younger son was Thomas (qv).
