bullet  Notes:

David was the youngest son of Rev John Scollay of Hunton in Stronsay, and was probably born there. He became a dyer in Kirkwall. He had a son James with Isobel Scot, baptised in Kirkwall in July 1750, then four months later married Euphemia Ballenden (qv). They had three children, probably born in Kirkwall, although their baptisms have not been traced. Their eldest son John owned a property in Kirkwall, but emigrated to Jamaica, where he was a lieutenant in the Kingston Militia. Their only daughter Ann (qv) married James Gray (qv) of South Ronaldsay. Their youngest son Peter was also a dyer in Kirkwall, and inherited his elder brother's property there. Neither son is known to have married.
