Notes: The eldest son, Ralph's occupation is not known, but was probably a fisherman. He was described as a poor man in the burial register. He married Alice White (qv) in 1743, and had six children, three boys and three girls, all baptized in the Embleton Parish Church. Their eldest son was John, and their eldest daughter Anne married John Reed. Their next son was William (qv). Their next daughter Mary married Robert Embleton of Edlingham. Their youngest son Ralph was a fisherman in Berwick upon Tweed, where he had seven children with his wife Sarah Fradley, who was from Doncaster. Their youngest daughter Isobel married James Smith of Newton by the Sea, and had four children. Ralph married Alice WHITE on 4 Aug 1743 in Holy Trinity, Embleton, Northumberland.1 |
