Notes: William was a fisherman in Newton by the Sea, and had five children with his wife Margaret Mole (qv). Their only daugher was baptised as Alice, but was (probably) known as Eleanor (qv). Their three eldest sons have not been traced after their baptisms. Their youngest son John was also a fisherman in Newton by the Sea, but in the 1830s moved to Newbiggin in Embleton, where he and his wife Jane Young brought up their seven children. William married Margaret MOLE on 24 Jun 1789 in Holy Trinity, Embleton, Northumberland.1 (Margaret MOLE was born 1756, Of in Ellingham, Northumberland,6 7 died in Newton by the Sea, Northumberland 5 and was buried on 13 Sep 1832 in Holy Trinity, Embleton, Northumberland 1.) |
