bullet  Notes:

Richard was a farmer in Bramshott in Hampshire when his father died around 1516, but subsequently moved to Woolbeding in Sussex where he was buried around 1546. He described himself as 'the elder', but did not include a son Richard in his will. He left money, household goods and agricultural produce to his wife Elizabeth (qv); his house to his son John; and equal shares of the residue of his estate to his two sons John and William (qv). Two years prior to writing his will he gave land in Midhurst to another son Thomas, who was residing in Woodmans Green in Woolbeding at the time of his death in 1584.
