Reader WATTS
(1647-1680) |
Reader WATTS
Notes: Reader was the youngest son, and received a share of property in Sandhurst in his father's will. He married Mary Baytop in Canterbury in 1671, and then moved to London where their eldest son Edmund was born. They later moved to Sutton Valence near Maidstone, and Reader died at the age of 33 soon after the birth of their younger son Reader (qv) - perhaps he had left London due to ill health. Both sons were tobacconists in London, although Edmund was a member of the Haberdashers Livery Company. In 1725 Edmund's daughter Sarah married Whitehead Watts, also a Haberdasher, but it is not known if Whitehead was related. Reader married Mary BAYTOP on 24 Jul 1671 in St Margaret, Canterbury, Kent.1 |
