Notes: William was probably the eldest surviving son, and inherited property in Salford from his parents. His will shows that he was a farmer, and owned extensive holdings of land in Salford when he died in 1698. He had four children with each of his two wives. The name of his first wife is not known: they had three sons and one daughter. Their two eldest sons Ralph and William were their father's joint executors and main beneficiaries - Ralph remained in Salford while William moved to Windrush in Gloucestershire. Their only daughter was Mary; and their youngest son was Cornelius (qv), who also remained in Salford. William married Unknown. William next married Elizabeth COLBORN on 1 May 1685 in St Mary, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire.1 (Elizabeth COLBORN died After 1697, Of in Salford, Oxfordshire 3.) |
