John WILKINSON
(-1743) |
John WILKINSON 3
![]()
He was presumably the eldest son, as he inherited his father's farm and property in Horsley, sharing one of the leases with his brother Jacob. He must have been a successful farmer, as he owned a freehold and leasehold farm in Horsley when he died in 1743. He married Elizabeth Carr in 1711, and identified four sons in his will. Their eldest son was Robert (qv) who inherited all his property. However, their third son Jacob occupied his leasehold farm, and both Robert and Jacob were were required to pay some of the income from the farms to the other two sons John and Joseph ![]() John married Elizabeth CARR, daughter of Mr CARR and Miss BLUNT, on 15 May 1711 in St Mary the Virgin, Ovingham, Northumberland.1 2 (Elizabeth CARR died in Horsley, Northumberland 4 and was buried on 21 Dec 1742 in St Mary the Virgin, Ovingham, Northumberland 5.) |
