William was the only son, and inherited a farm in the Parish of Steeple Barton and his father's fulling equipment. He may have been the William Fawdry who was listed in the Protestation Returns for Church Enstone in 1641-42, the only Fawdry listed in the Parish of Enstone. He was only 16 when he married Mary Wisdom (qv) in 1614. They had several children, although there is uncertainty about his yougest son as there is a long gap in the Enstone Parish Register. Their eldest son was Ralph (qv); Ann and George were beneficiaries in their grandfather's will; and their yougest daughter was Elizabeth. Their putative son John Fawdry was a yeoman in Enstone, and had two sons William and John who became silversmiths in the City of London.
