  • Born: 1528, Lodsworth, Sussex 2
  • Marriage: Julian
  • Buried: 27 Feb 1608, St Peter, Petersfield, Hampshire 3

bullet  Notes:

Robert was probably the younger brother, and was born in Lodsworth around 1528. He moved to Bramshott in 1573 and to Petersfield in 1587, where he died in 1608. He was a yeoman and property owner, leasing his house in Petersfield from Magdalen College Oxford. He had nine children with his wife Julian (qv), six sons and three daughters. Their eldest son was William (qv). Their eldest daughter Joan's married name was Streater - she may have married Henry Streater of Bramshott. Their next daughter Katherine married William Wycher of Petersfield, and their next daughter Elinor died in infancy in Lodsworth.

Their five younger sons were all born in Bramshott. John has not been traced after his baptism in 1573, and was not mentioned in his father's will. Henry (aka Harry) remained in Petersfield, married at least three times, and had five daughters with his first wife Joan. Their next son Crysophilus (qv) moved to Ropley in Hampshire. Their next son Robert died when he was 26, in Petersfield. Their youngest son Martin moved to Winchester, where he became a wealthy Alderman, was Mayor in 1626 and 1634, and had seven children from his two marriages.
