William LLOYD
(1713-1781) |
William LLOYD 2
Notes: The eldest son, William was like his father a malster, innkeeper and property owner in Stroud. In 1736 he married Sarah Essington (qv) who was also from Stroud. They are known to have had five children - four sons and a daughter. Their two eldest sons, Samuel and William, were warehousemen and cloth sellers in Lower Thames Street in the City of London, and were non-conformists. Both married and had children. It is clear from wills that the next son Nathaniel was financially dependant on the rest of the family. Their youngest son Richard was (probably) a baker in Limehouse, and was also a non-conformist. Their only daughter was Sarah (qv), who married Michael Compigne (qv), a silk mercer. William married Sarah ESSINGTON, daughter of John ESSINGTON and Unknown, on 15 Jun 1736 in St Lawrence, Stroud, Gloucestershire.1 (Sarah ESSINGTON was christened on 18 Oct 1710 in St Lawrence, Stroud, Gloucestershire 1 and was buried on 30 Oct 1777 in St Lawrence, Stroud, Gloucestershire 1.) |
