bullet  Notes:

It is not known whether William was related to the Corrie family who had been prominent landowners in Dumfriesshire - Adam de Corrie was keeper to Robert the Bruce's castle at Lochmaben, but the family lost their estates in the late 15th Century after siding with the Douglases against James III of Scotland. William is only know from his memorial: he died at Clunie, a hill farm to the south of Terregles near Dumfries. He is thought to have had two sons - John (qv), and Alexander. The latter lived at Clunie, married Elizabeth Patterson and had two sons: John who farmed at Clunie and was an elder of the Parish Church, and James who may have been the first of many in the Corrie family to emigrate from Scotland to Wellingborough in England.
