Notes: Rene is thought to have been the second son of Paul and Madelaine Turquand, and was a sugar refiner. He probably emigrated to England in his early 20s, prior to his first marriage in Spitalfields in 1716 to Lea Pallardy (qv), when he was a resident of St Martins in the Fields. They had one daughter Louisa (qv), who married Michael Compigne (qv), a silversmith in Seven Dials. Rene married Lea PALLARDY, daughter of Andrew PALLARDY and Elizabeth HEBERT, on 19 Apr 1716 in French Church The Artillery, Spitalfields, Middlesex.1 2 (Lea PALLARDY was christened on 19 Aug 1694 in French Church Threadneedle St, London 9.) Rene next married Catherine Marie MORIN on 12 May 1718 in St Benet Paul's Wharf, London.3 (Catherine Marie MORIN was born on 16 Jun 1694 in Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux, Dauphiny, France,10 11 died in Hackney, Middlesex 12 and was buried on 15 Aug 1754 in Christ Church, Spitalfields, Middlesex 8.) Rene next married Jane BOUCLES on 10 Apr 1760 in St Michael, Southampton, Hampshire.4 (Jane BOUCLES was buried on 12 Mar 1778 in St Lawrence with St John, Southampton, Hampshire 13.) |
