Jarvis GIBBON 1
Jarvis (or Gervase) Gibbon was a clothier in Benenden. He is known from the will of his son Robert to have had at least seven children (three daughters and four sons), but his wife's name is not known. His daughter Elizabeth (qv) married William Watts (qv), another clothier in Benenden. Jarvis' other daughters were Margaret who married Henry Pattenden of Goudhurst, and Mary who married Edward Mapysden of Benenden. The eldest son was probably Henry, who married three times and was a wealthy landowner in Benenden by the time of his death in 1589. The other three sons were Robert, a clothier in Rolvenden; John who also lived in Rolvenden; and Edmund who founded the Gibbon School in Benenden in 1608.
Jarvis married Unknown. (Unknown died after 1564 3.)
