Jarvis GIBBON 1
Jarvis (or Gervase) Gibbon was a clothier in Benenden. He is known from the will of his son Robert to have had at least seven children (three daughters and four sons) with his wife Agnes. His daughter Elizabeth (qv) married William Watts (qv), another clothier in Benenden. Jarvis' other daughters were Margaret who married three times and had children with her first two husbands, and Mary who married Edward Mapysden of Benenden. Jarvis' eldest son was probably Henry, who also married three times and was a wealthy landowner in Benenden by the time of his death in 1589. The other three sons were Robert, a clothier in Rolvenden; John who also lived in Rolvenden; and Edmund who founded the Gibbon School in Benenden in 1608.
Jarvis married Agnes. (Agnes died after 1574 3.)
