Rose was the daughter of Reginald Goodyer of Alton in Hampshire, and the sister of John Goodyer, a highly regarded 17th Century botanist. Rose married the widower William Yalden (qv) around 1608, presumably in Alton - the Parish Register has not survived. She outlived her husband, and was living in Weston near Petersfield when she wrote her will in 1649.
