bullet  Notes:

William was probably the eldest surviving son, and inherited property in Salford from his parents. His will shows that he was a farmer, and owned several properties in Salford when he died in 1698. He had four children with each of his two wives. The name of his first wife is not known: they had three sons and one daughter. Their two eldest sons Ralph and William were their father's joint executors and main beneficiaries - Ralph remained in Salford while William moved to Windrush in Gloucestershire. Their only daughter was Mary; and their youngest son was Cornelius (qv), who also remained in Salford.

William remarried in 1685 to Elizabeth Colborn: they had one son and three daughters. Their son James was a farmer in Salford, and the ancestor of the current Fawdry family in Salford. Their daughters were Elizabeth, who left a will when she died in 1711; Sarah; and Hannah who married William Godfrey of Little Compton.
