bullet  Notes:

Richard was the fourth son, and as his elder brothers inherited the family farms it is likely that he took up a trade instead. He married Elizabeth Anstis (qv) in Lanivet, and moved a few years later to Lostwithiel, where most of their children were baptised. He was living in Church Town in Lanivet when he died at the age of 84.

Four of their nine children survived to adulthood. The eldest was John (qv), a builder, so it is possible that Richard also was a builder. The next was Elizabeth, who married John Scott and moved to Paddington in London. The third was Grace who married Charles Jenkin, a basket maker in St Austell: their sons were also basket makers. Richard's youngest son William is thought to have been killed in the Bombardment of Algiers in 1816.
