Henry NICHOLS 2
Henry was the younger of two sons. His birthplace is not known, but his mother died in Northington in Hampshire, where his father was a 'yeoman'. Henry lived in Castle Street in Farnham, and was a hop planter and wine and spirit merchant. He had four children with his wife Elizabeth Osmond (qv). Their two oldest sons John and Ben were twins: John was first an surgeon and apothecary in Basingstoke, and then a farmer in Seale in Surrey - he married his cousin Eliza Osmond but did not have any children; and Ben who was a solicitor in Castle St, and a bachelor. The third son Henry took over his father's wine business, and lived next door to his brother Ben in Castle Street - Henry jnr married but also did not have any children. Henry snr's youngest child and only daughter was Eliza (qv).
Henry married Elizabeth OSMOND, daughter of John OSMOND and Rebecca MONGER, on 7 Jan 1805 in St George Hanover Square, Westminster.1 (Elizabeth OSMOND was born on 27 Nov 1773 in Warminster, Wiltshire 3, christened on 25 May 1774 in St Denys, Warminster, Wiltshire,7 died on 16 Jan 1856 in Farnham, Surrey 3 4 and was buried on 22 Jan 1856 in St Andrew, Farnham, Surrey 6.)
