bullet  Notes:

Richard was the only son, owned the manor of Padbury, and was High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1724. He had 15 children with his wife Penelope Chester, seven reaching adulthood. Their eldest daughter Frances was the second wife of Thomas Sheppard of Littlecote - their son Thomas lived at Thornton Hall and was made Baronet in 1719. The next daughter Penelope did not marry, and lived in Padbury. Their eldest son Richard also did not marry, and after he died left the family estate to his younger brother Henry. Henry was an attorney in Bicester in Oxfordshire, and left the family estate to his son Richard who sold it after his grandmother Penelope died in 1782.

The next daughter was Bridget (qv). Little is known about the next son John apart from bequests in wills. The youngest surviving son was Anthony, who is know to have had at least four children.
