bullet  Notes:

Francis (and his father before him) was most likely either a farmer or lead miner in the Derbshire Parish of Carsington. He was the second of three sons, and married Hannah Cadman (qv) who came from the neighbouring parish of Wirksworth. Five of their 10 children married and had children. Their eldest son James (qv) moved to Horbury in Yorkshire. Their only married daughter Deborah moved to Sheffield, where her husband John Hale worked as a file cutter. The next married son Francis was a draper in Wakefield. Next was John who also moved to Horbury, and was first a weaver, then a gardener. The youngest son Jacob was the only one to remain in Carsington, where he was a lead miner.
