Philippe DE NOEUD
(-1605) |
Philippe DE NOEUD 3
Notes: Philippe came from Brevillers, a village in the Parish of Lucheux in Picardy. Four sons are known from marriage contracts drawn up in Canterbury in England, and one daughter from her baptism there in 1581. The family appears to have dispersed in France and the Low Countries prior to their arrival in England - one son was recorded as being from Flanders, and another from Orleans. Two sons and one grandson are known to have been weavers, a common occupation for the Protestant immigrants, so it is likely that Philippe was a weaver as well. His wife (her first name was not recorded) died in Canterbury in 1590. He remarried twice, in 1592 and 1597 - both wives were from the Low Countries. Philippe was described as 'vieul homme' when he died in 1605. Philippe married Unknown. (Unknown died in Nov 1590 in Canterbury, Kent 6.) Philippe next married Jane HAUELOTTE on 21 May 1592 in Walloon or Strangers Church, Canterbury, Kent.1 (Jane HAUELOTTE was born Of in Valenciennes, Hainaut, Low Countries 4.) Philippe next married Claire NOIRET on 9 Oct 1597 in Walloon or Strangers Church, Canterbury, Kent.2 (Claire NOIRET was born Of in Douai, Flanders, Low Countries 7.) |
