bullet  Notes:

The surname of this family changed from Scott to Thomas over several generations in the 17th Century, via Scott alias Thomas and Thomas alias Scott. It is not known why the change was made, or how they were related to other families with the same surname(s) in the parishes around Lanlivery, including Luxulyan, Lostwithiel and Lanivet, all to the south of Bodmin.

James was a yeoman farmer in Lanlivery. He had three children with his wife Joan (qv): Mary who married Robert Lukes, Joan, and Thomas (qv). His left his land in Lanlivery, including the use of his part of the Common, to his wife Joan, his unmarried daughter Joan, his grandson Robert Thomas alias Scott, and John Tregunnan who may have been his wife's relation.
