Notes: The only son, Robert was still a minor when he inherited the lease of the Magdalen College Farm in Ropley from his father. He was a yeoman farmer, leased land in Ropley and East Tisted, and probably also lived in Bishops Sutton, and later in Stockbridge. He firstly married Ann, and had five married children - two sons and three daughters - most of whom were baptised in Ropley. Their eldest son William settled in Bishops Sutton, and was the main beneficiary in his father's will. Their eldest daughter Ann married Daniel Waight, whose children were baptised in Bishops Sutton; their next daughter Rebecca (qv) married John Budd (qv) of Ropley; and their youngest daughter Martha married Henry Smith of South Stoneham. Their youngest son Robert married Elizabeth Kinchen of Rogate, and settled in Ropley. Robert married Ann. Robert next married Susan PILE on 3 Dec 1709 in Hampshire.1 |
