bullet  Notes:

Elizabeth was the eldest daughter of Sir John Peyton of Doddington in the Isle of Ely, who was the son and heir of Sir John Peyton, sometime Lieutenant of the Tower and Governor of Jersey. She married Anthony Chester (qv) in 1623, but the marriage settlement was not made until 1628, when her grandfather gave her £3,000. The baptisms of her 13 children show that she lived with her husband until 1634 in Doddington, her father's home; then in Dunham in Bedfordshire; then in Chicheley until the Civil War when they moved first to Great Abingdon and then to the Hague in the Low Countries, returning to Chichely in 1650. She outlived her husband by 40 years, and died at the age of 87 at Chicheley.
