bullet  Notes:

John is thought to have been a lock manufactuer in New Invention in the Parish of Willenhall, but there is no documentary evidence to substantiate this. He had four children with his wife Anne Woodward (qv). Little is known about their eldest son James, except that he was fond of riding to hounds over the Hilton Estate. Their younger son Joseph was a locksmith, and had a large family with his wife Sarah Davies: their two younger sons John and George left substantial sums of money to charity, acquired in the brewing trade. John and Anne's eldest daughter was Mary (qv) who married Barnabas Bailey (qv), a mining agent. Their younger daughter Harriet married John York, but little more is known about them.
