bullet  Notes:

William was a victualler and property owner in Southwark. He had two children with his first wife Ann: Paul, who died in infancy; and Jane Sophia (qv) who married Malcolm Gray (qv) of South Ronaldsay in Orkney. William had five children with his second wife Hannah Maria. Their eldest son William was staying with his half-sister Jane Sophia in Orkney at the time of the 1821 Census, and is believed to have emigrated to Africa in 1823. Their eldest daughter Mary Ann married Thomas Gibson, a tailor from Scotland, but she has not been traced after the 1851 Census when she helping her husband with his business in Marylebone. Their younger son John was a successful goldsmith in Gerrard Street in Soho, and had two children with his wife Susannah Parkes. William and Hannah Maria's two youngest daughters were Elizabeth, who is only know from her baptismal record; and Emma, who married Thomas William Francis, a jeweller who worked in Southwark.
