bullet  Notes:

Jean originally came from Cambrai in the Low Countries, then moved from Canterbury to London, where he was a merchant. He married twice, first to Mary De Lespine (qv), the sister of Jane De Lespine who had married his brother Arnold, and had one daughter Mary who married James Denew (qv). Jean then married Anne Maurois, and had another daughter Elizabeth who married William Carbonnel. William was the son of Thomas Carbonnel of Caen, fled France at the Revocation, and became a merchant in London. Three of William and Elizabeth's sons were Liverymen in the Company of Dyers, another son William was killed at the Siege of Namur in 1695, and their youngest son Delillers was Governor of the Bank of England in 1740/1.
