bullet  Notes:

Mary was the eldest surviving daughter of James Denew, a merchant of French origin whose family had settled in Canterbury in the late 16th Century, then moved to London. Elizabeth kept a memorandum book in which she recorded brief details of her family, which has survived and been published. She outlived her husband Benjamin Warren (qv), and was living in Stepney shortly before her death in 1720.
