Notes: Mary was the eldest surviving daughter of James Denew, a merchant of French origin whose family had settled in Canterbury in the late 16th Century, then moved to London. Elizabeth kept a memorandum book in which she recorded brief details of her family, which has survived and been published. She outlived her husband Benjamin Warren (qv), and was living in Stepney shortly before her death in 1720. Mary married Benjamin WARREN, son of William WARREN and Judith PIKE, on 1 Jun 1682 in St Paul Covent Garden, Westminster.1 2 (Benjamin WARREN was christened on 4 Aug 1652 in St Andrew, Plymouth, Devon,7 died Of in Stepney, Middlesex 8 and was buried on 14 Mar 1713 in All Hallows Barking by the Tower, London 9.) |
