bullet  Notes:

George was educated at the Merchant Taylor's School and Magdalene College Oxford, where he was a Fellow between 1575 and 1583. He was appointed Rector of Collingborne Ducis in Wiltshire in 1581, and held that post for the next 51 years.

He is known to have had three children. His son John predeceased him, and his daughter Martha (qv) married William Whately (qv) at Banbury. His other daughter Bridget married Rev Henry Scudder, who held Presbyterian views, was appointed Rector of Collingbourne Ducis after the death of his father-in-law in 1632, and was a member of the Assembly of Divines. Henry was buried at Collingbourne Ducis, but his tomb was removed after the Restoration
