Notes: He was Lord of the Chateau of Bouvines (at Sainguin-en-Melantois near Lille), and a strict Catholic. He was probably related to Jean de La Bouverie, the 8th Chancellor of Brabant in 1478. His three sons Jean, Antoine and Laurens (qv) emigrated to England in 1576, as Protestant refugees. Le married. |
