Nicholas was the eldest son, and rented Ash Manor, and Jolyns and Mongers in Ash, between 1664 and 1682. He married twice, and outlived both of his wives. His will shows three children: his eldest daughter Mary (qv); his younger daughter Sarah; and his only son John, who married into the Clifton family of Worplesdon, and was his executor and main beneficiary.
