Notes: Jane was the daughter of William Peake (qv), a victualler' in Southwark, and his first wife Ann. She married Malcolm Gray (qv) when she was just 19, and moved to Roeberry Farm in South Ronaldsay where she raised her family. She outlived her husband, and moved to the newly built Roeberry House towards the end of her life. She died when she was 78, following a stroke. Jane married Malcolm GRAY, son of James GRAY and Ann SCOLLAY, on 20 Apr 1819 in St Mary, Newington, Southwark, Surrey.1 2 (Malcolm GRAY was born on 25 Dec 1783 in South Ronaldsay, Orkney,7 8 died on 17 Nov 1857 in Roeberry, South Ronaldsay, Orkney 9 and was buried in St Peter, South Ronaldsay, Orkney 7.) |
