John AYLWIN
(-1570) |
John AYLWIN 1
Notes: He was probably the John Alewin who farmed the Rectory of West Dean (known as Canons) in 1532, but at the time of his death in 1570 he was farming at Monkton, on the site of an abandoned medieval village near to the village of Chilgrove. He identified four sons and three daughters in his will, which showed that he was a reasonably prosperous farmer - his bequests included large numbers of sheep. John married. |
