Richard FORBENCH 1Notes: Richard described himself as a 'Gent of Ripley' in his will of 1620, in which he identified his wife Isabell (qv) and six children. His eldest son Charles was educated at Magdalen College at Cambridge, and was ordained in 1620. He was Rector at Great Hannay in Essex amongst other parishes, but had Royalist sympathies and was sequestered in 1642. He was imprisoned, and subsequently lived in poverty in Sandford on Thames where his three children were born, and Iffley, both near Oxford. He was restored to his post in 1660. Richard married Isabell. (Isabell died 1635, Of in Lambeth, Surrey 4.) |
