  Notes:

John was a yeoman usher in the King's 'maistie chamber'. He wrote his will in 1549, and left his property in Sutton Court and Wotton Basset to his eldest son John, who was still a minor. His will was proved in 1597, a few months after his son John died, by his daughter Mary (qv) who had married William Umfreville (qv).
