Richard was a property owner in Great Tew. He married Mary Freeman in 1724, and a little is known about three of their seven children. Their eldest daughter Mary married John Davis of Little Compton, and they both inherited an interest in Richard's property. Their only surviving son was William, who also had an interest in Richard's property,. Their youngest daughter was Rachel (qv).
