John's occupation is unknown, but he was illiterate and did not leave a will so was probably a labourer. He married Joanna Warn of St Dennis, and had 10 children in Lanivet, four of whom married. Their eldest son William married Elizabeth Pryn, and the three others all married Thomas', although it is not known how or whether the three spouses were related: their daughter Elizabeth married Richard Thomas (qv), and their younger sons Robert and John married Mary and Jane Thomas respectively.
John married Joanna WARN, daughter of Humphrey WARN and Joan MARTYN, on 7 Feb 1738 in St Nivet, Lanivet, Cornwall.1 (Joanna WARN was christened on 11 Apr 1719 in St Dennis, Cornwall 4 and was buried on 22 Nov 1805 in St Nivet, Lanivet, Cornwall 3.)
