William was the second of three sons, but little is known about him. His younger brother Josiah officiated at his marriage to Henrietta Warren (qv) at his parish church of St Martin Outwich. They had one surviving daughter, also named Henrietta (qv). He and his wife were living in Bromley by Bow in London when he died in 1752, aged 64.
