Nicholas was a yeoman farmer in Ash in Surrey. He was the sole executor and main beneficiary in his father's will, and leased Mongers in Ash in 1608. He owned land and property in Surrey and Berkshire when he died in 1625.
Nicholas married Joan Worsum (qv) in 1594, and identified four sons and four daughters in his will. The two eldest sons were Henry (qv) and Nicholas (qv). The third son Thomas was a farmer in Ash, and was in partnership with his elder brother Nicholas, but died at the age of 40 leaving two young daughters. Little is known about the other children apart from entries in parish registers, and the inheritances which are given in Nicholas snr's will.
