Notes: William Yalden - who died in 1600 - is the first Yalden of his line to be definitely identified in parish registers. He married Joan Cooper alias Stening (qv) in 1575. They are known to have had 10 children, seven sons and three daughters. Only two of their sons, William (qv) and Edmund, have been traced after their marriages: Edmund married Alice Ayling of Woolbeding, one of many marriages between the Yalden and Ayling families, and settled in the neighbouring parish of Thursley. William and Joan's eldest daughter married William Eade of Lurgashall, and had two daughters. William married Joane COOPER ALIAS STENING, daughter of Richard COOPER ALIAS STENING and Elizabeth, on 30 Jan 1575 in St Laurence, Lurgashall, Sussex.1 (Joane COOPER ALIAS STENING died Of in Lodsworth, Sussex 3 and was buried on 25 Jun 1608 in St Laurence, Lurgashall, Sussex 1.) |
